John Moorlach for state Senate
In the 37th state Senate District, Republican incumbent John Moorlach looks to hold on to his seat against Democratic challenger Ari Grayson.
It was only one year ago that Moorlach took his seat in the state Senate, replacing Mimi Walters when she ascended to Congress, in a special election. But even in that short time, his opponent has found much to disagree with – stating on his website that Moorlach is “consistently on the wrong side of the values of O.C. voters.”
But we take a different view. We think that, in merely a year’s time, Moorlach has proven himself to be one of the most steadfast defenders of taxpayers and an important voice for fiscal prudence. Moorlach, therefore, again has our endorsement to represent the district.
Moorlach has held the line on ballooning budgets, tax hikes and increased spending. He has continuously advocated for tackling our state’s sizeable unfunded liabilities and has taken the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to task for its inefficiency and wasteful spending, to the detriment of our roads and bridges.
As we said in 2015, and we say again today, Moorlach has accomplished a great deal for those he has represented, and we think he can achieve a great deal more.
The Editorial Board recommends a vote for John Moorlach on Nov. 8.
